Why bamboo?
For a material to be sustainable, it must be abundant and easily replaced. As a grass that can grow up to 10 centimeters a day, bamboo is a prime candidate for eco-friendly products! Harvested bamboo can be completely replenished in two-weeks’ time. And because it’s naturally anti-microbial, it’s perfect for personal hygiene products like toothbrushes. Bamboo is more water-resistant than wood, but the self-standing MABLE brush handle keeps it even more protected from water damage.
Can I recycle my toothbrush?
Absolutely. In fact, you can throw your used brush handle into the compost because bamboo is biodegradable. Our bamboo handle is USDA certified as 100% biobased, however our bristles do include nylon, and they are not compostable. The bristles are easily removed with plyers before composting the handle!
How long does the bamboo handle take to break down?
It depends on composting conditions but we estimate around 4-6 months.
Is the packaging eco-friendly?
You bet it is. We really care about the environment, and we knew that our eco-friendly toothbrush had better have an eco-friendly package to go with it! The cardboard box can go in the paper recycle bin. We print on unbleached cardboard and use soy based inks. We're proud to offer plastic-free packaging.
Can I cancel my monthly subscription?
Of course you can. Anytime. No need to contact us first; simply login to your account and hit the “Cancel” button. We’ll be sad to let you go, but thrilled to know you support our cause!
I have a Mable membership, when does my credit card get charged?
We charge your credit card, the day of the subscription renewl. You will receive an email 4 days before your brush is about to ship so that you can make any adjustments to your membership. For example change of address or credit card. or change the subscription date.
How does the “BUY GIVE TEACH” program work?
For every toothbrush purchased, MABLE donates a portion of the sales to educating kids about the environment. Our team actually visits schools in the U.S. to teach kids about the importance of keeping our planet green, while hand-delivering their new bamboo brush. Because change starts with good habits. And good habits need a reason. With education, we aim to give kids a reason to make sustainable choices in their lives. Starting now.
